Here at Henry Nicholas, our team work with some of the world’s leading marketing agencies, big name brands and innovative start-ups. We’re looking for motivated consultants to join our team – if you love working with people, check out our current vacancies here.

In this series, we’ve been talking to our team to find out what it’s like building a career in recruitment.

We spoke to Recruitment Resourcer Gabrielle Sweeting about her role…

Hi Gaby! How long have you worked for Henry Nicholas?

I’m currently the newest team member; I’ve worked here since July 2022, so around 6 months now.

What’s your career background?

I graduated from Birmingham City University in June 2022 with a degree in Marketing, Advertising and PR. Before I knew I wanted to build my career in recruitment, I worked as a waitress and a rock climbing instructor!

What do you enjoy most about recruitment?

I really like how social my role is, as I get to build relationships with a lot of people, and love helping them move up in their career. I also enjoy the performance-based incentives; it really motivates me to work hard and do well.

What do you love about working at HN?

I love the team and the culture we have, it’s really supportive and fun. I also love how flexible it is at Henry Nicholas, with a nice mix of working from home and in the office.

How would you describe the HN culture?

It’s fun, laid-back and friendly… but still motivating, and the team are all very driven.

What does your typical day look like?

My first hour tends to be spent taking care of emails and applications, then throughout the day I’ll carry out searches and liaise with candidates and clients. After work, I usually hit the gym in the city centre, as it’s close to the office.

Do you have a favourite memory to share?

The Christmas party was definitely a lot of fun!

What are you looking forward to achieving this year?

I’m looking forward to completing my training and becoming a consultant this year.
